Slow Cooked Beef
Ingredients:
3 pounds (1.4 kg) beef chuck roast
1 onion, sliced
4 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup (240 ml) beef broth
2 tablespoons (30 ml) Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons (30 ml) tomato paste
1 tablespoon (15 ml) honey
1 teaspoon (5 ml) dried thyme
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions:
Season the beef with salt and pepper.
In a skillet, sear the beef on all sides until browned.
Place the sliced onion and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
Place the seared beef on top of the onion and garlic.
In a small bowl, whisk together the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, tomato paste, honey, and dried thyme. Pour over the beef.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the beef is tender and falls apart easily.
Remove the beef from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
Serve the beef with the cooking liquid and onions.
