Fish fry is a popular dish that can be enjoyed as an appetizer or a main course. Here’s how to make it:
Ingredients:

1 lb. firm white fish fillets (such as cod or haddock)
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1 cup buttermilk
Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

Cut the fish fillets into 2-3 inch pieces.

In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.

Pour the buttermilk into another shallow dish.

Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.

Dip each piece of fish in the buttermilk, then coat it with the flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.

Fry the fish in the hot oil, a few pieces at a time, until golden brown on both sides and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per side.

Remove the fish from the skillet with a slotted spoon and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain off any excess oil.

Serve the fish hot with your choice of dipping sauce.
